FigCraft is ArtCraft's free, open-source Rust app for interface design and prototyping, with a Figma-style workflow. Choose an official Windows, macOS or Linux package below. The project is in early alpha; the downloads are verified against GitHub releases, while compatibility and production reliability have not been independently tested by us.
Our take: Worth trying for interface design and prototyping on copies; still early alpha.

Windows ARM64 or 32-bit PC? Linux ARM64, DEB, RPM, Flatpak or a portable Windows ZIP? Choose another package in the full release ↗. Match the architecture to your computer; the buttons above are not suitable for every device.
Windows: Choose the x64 MSI below for Intel/AMD PCs; ARM64, x86 and portable packages are listed in the full release.
macOS: The checked universal DMG supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Linux: Choose the x86_64 AppImage below for Intel/AMD systems. Other architectures and package formats are in the release.
Web: A WebAssembly build is distinct from a hosted editor. Check the repository for browser setup and limitations.
Before opening important work, compare the downloaded file with the release’s SHA256SUMS.txt. Open a copy, save or export it, and inspect the output in another app. We checked package availability; we have not run every installer or independently tested production compatibility.
Installing several tools? ArtCraft Launcher 0.6.1 is a separate project; check its supported app list. The WebAssembly ZIP is a self-hostable build, not a hosted web editor. Browse all 13 download guides or find repositories in our GitHub directory.
The short answer
Worth trying for interface design and prototyping on copies; still early alpha.
The official README describes .fig import as best effort. Multiplayer is a preview with no accounts, teams or cloud yet; plug-ins use FigCraft's own WebAssembly system rather than Figma's. Real Figma documents have not been comprehensively checked by the project.
What is already there
These are capabilities documented by the official project. They are reasons to test the app, not a promise that every Figma workflow behaves identically.
01
Frames, auto layout, vector networks, styles and variables are documented. Try one screen with nested layouts before importing a large design system.
02
The project describes components and variants for repeatable UI. Check overrides, text changes and layout behavior in the exact component set you plan to reuse.
03
Prototype interactions and a multiplayer preview are documented. Evaluate a small flow and a second participant before relying on it for a team review.

Common questions
Use the checked official GitHub assets linked on this page or github.com/storytold/figcraft/releases/latest for newer builds. We do not host or repackage installers. Match your processor architecture and compare the file with the release's SHA256SUMS.txt.
FigCraft is published under MIT or Apache-2.0, with free official downloads. Bundled assets and branding may have separate terms. Download availability does not imply production readiness.
The project calls .fig import best effort and uses its own WebAssembly plug-ins, not Figma's plug-in runtime. Treat it as a separate editor. Check a copied file and your actual collaboration requirements before moving a team project.
Check the official latest-release page and read its release notes before installing a newer standalone package. Back up your projects first. ArtCraft Launcher is a separate option for managing multiple Crafting Apps; check that its current app list includes the tool you need.
How we evaluated this page
This guide summarizes the official FigCraft product page and repository. We have not yet independently tested production files, performance or long-session stability, so those claims remain clearly bounded.
Development journal
· Official release
The v0.9.0 notes address CSS colour parsing, SVG Title Case across styled runs, open subpaths and displaying the chosen saved filename. The official catalog still marks FigCraft Early alpha. These corrections do not establish complete Figma compatibility.
· Official release
The notes include following the system theme from startup, export-preview corrections, and a fix for closing the app by double-clicking a page. The v0.7.0 MCP documentation now includes optional automation read/write roots, previously covered here as development-only documentation. These path checks exclude app-owned storage and retain a path-check race; they are not a complete OS sandbox.
· Documentation update
FigCraft's development documentation reveals unreleased file-access controls for managing project permissions and sharing. The documentation describes frames, auto layout, components, and variants as core features, with desktop and Web targets planned.
